equal rights + family values

Recenty in my thesis research I have begun to tie together the idea of how much an empowered and "real" definition of family, not to mention family values, has to do with equal rights.

In my most recent round of research I encountered the MOTHERS (Mothers Ought To Have Equal Rights) coalition. They are a really amazing group of men and women fighting for the equality of mothers (of all types) and other family caregives in the U.S.

Check out their recent position on the economic empowerment of mothers: www.mothersoughttohaveequalrights.org

kudos to the americans united for separation of church and state.

From the International Herald Tribune, "A group is suing the federal government over grant money that went to a marriage counseling center which urges wives to serve their husbands and make them happy as a way of honoring god."
